The team belongs to the School of Forestry at Southwest Forestry University, with doctoral supervisors Zhang Jialong (professor) and Yang Jingwen (lecturer) as the team leaders. There are more than 20 master’s and doctoral students in total, making it a highly academic and vibrant research group.

The research group has obtained two projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the “Young Top notch Talents” special project of the 2020 Yunnan Provincial High level Talent Training Support Program. Team members won one third prize each in the 6th Liangxi Youth Paper Award and the Liangxi Forestry Science and Technology Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; 2 national invention patents; 8 software copyrights; Publish two academic monographs; Published over 50 academic papers, including more than 10 SCI indexed papers.

Mainly researching forest biomass/carbon storage modeling based on remote sensing, time series remote sensing, land use and cover change (LULCC), etc.
